What have you been doing during lockdown that's new to you?

Updated: Jun 24, 2020

As a family, we've been taking many more local walks together during lockdown. One of the things we've enjoyed doing on our walks is thinking about the wild food resources around. We celebrated a bountiful harvest of wild garlic in our garden this year, with which we have made (and eaten) lots of wild garlic pesto for our salads and pasta dishes.

Inspired by WC Felicity Harvest's bread- making adventures, we decided to have a go at nettle bread! I have a memory of falling off a stick swing into a mass of stinging nettles in my childhood, so I'm not sure what I think about nettle bread, but the process of walking and foraging for nettles was fun and rewarding. My kids seemed to enjoy the taste of the bread!
