6 Questions with local author
In this blog post, we ask local author Michelle Frances six questions, hoping to get an insight into her life and creative practice.
What is your creative practice?
I think up bad things characters might do to one another and write it down in the most creative way possible.
What has been a highlight of your career?
Getting published after 8 years of effort! It's a familiar tale with many authors and there was a big turning point in my years of graft that changed where I was headed.
What are your specialisms?
I write domestic noir -- thrillers in a domestic setting
What brings you joy in your work?
The buzz of telling a story and getting completely involved in it so that I emerge, blinking and wondering where I am.
What's the biggest challenge in your creative practice?
Having enough time to write all the books I have in my head.
If you were to be an artwork or a novel, what would you be?
A landscape set in the Mediterranean. It is a place that constantly inspires -- not necessarily the setting itself but the feeling of wellbeing from being in a place like that.
